It's difficult to place a lot of films in a single category. For this reason a lot of films have multiple genres.In an attempt to let you locate the particular type that you are looking for faster, we have started trying to sub-divide our genre categories into a variety of smaller groups.

Action - a movie in which the plot moves quickly from one dramatic event to another and which typically involves good characters combating evil ones. Character development and love interest are of secondary or no importance.
Adventure - features physical action often around a mission usually involving killing and robbing. Many times set in forbidding locales such as jungles, deserts, or mountains.
Comedy - is a genre of film in which the main emphasis is on humour. Films in this style traditionally have a happy ending (the black comedy being an exception). One of the oldest genres in film, some of the very first silent movies were comedies. Comedy, unlike other film genres, puts much more focus on individual stars, with many former stand-up comic transitioning to the film industry due to their popularity.
Drama - is a film genre that depends mostly on in-depth development of realistic characters dealing with emotional themes.
Romance - a literary genre of high culture, romance or chivalric romance is a style of heroic prose and verse narrative that was popular in the aristocratic circles of High Medieval and Early Modern Europe.
Horror - are unsettling films designed to frighten and panic, cause dread and alarm, and to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a cathartic experience.
Sci - Fi - is a genre of fiction dealing with the impact of imagined innovations in science or technology, often in a futuristic setting.
Cartoons - A motion picture or television film consisting of a photographed series of drawings, objects, or computer graphics that simulates motion by recording very slight, continuous changes in the images, frame by frame.
